Srinagar, May 21 -- The Jammu & Kashmir People's Conference (JKPC) on Thursday strongly condemned the house arrest of its Secretary Organisation, Sheikh Mohammed Imran, ahead of the Fatiha-Khwani at Martyrs' Graveyard Eidgah and subsequent commemorative functions at Church Lane and J65 Jawahar Nagar in Srinagar on the death anniversary of Shaheed Abdul Gani Lone Sahib.

In a statement issued to KNS, the party said Sheikh Mohammed Imran was placed under house arrest late last evening, with police personnel deployed at both gates of his residence and instructed not to allow him to move out.
