Jammu, July 26 -- The strike by nearly 300 sanitation workers of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Jammu ended peacefully after a five-day foot march from Jammu to Srinagar. The daily wagers and casual labourers were demanding regularisation of their jobs and resolution of long-pending employment issues.
The workers met Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani and Housing & Urban Development Commissioner Secretary Mandeep Kaur. They presented their demands, including job regularisation, pending provident funds, timely wages, relief for workers injured on duty, and withdrawal of legal cases filed during the strike.
