Srinagar, April 29 -- Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vidhi Kumar Birdi on Tuesday said police will intensify legal action against drug peddlers and smugglers over the next 100 days as part of the ongoing anti-drug campaign.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), he said the campaign, launched recently under the administration's "Nasha Mukta" initiative, will adopt a multi-pronged approach with a focus on stricter enforcement, awareness and rehabilitation.

"In the next 100 days, we will increase checks and registration of FIRs against those involved in drug peddling and smuggling," Birdi said, adding that police will identify and destroy illegal cultivation of poppy and cannabis across the Valley.
