Srinagar Nov 2 (KNS), Nov. 2 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has granted clearance to the Jammu and Kashmir government to proceed with the proposed cable car project in Baisaran, Pahalgam, officials said on Sunday. The tourist spot was the site of the April 22 terror attack that claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists, in an assault carried out by Pakistan-based terrorists.

Officials said the NIA was approached by the Union Territory administration for its opinion before restarting the project. "We were asked about our views regarding the cable car project, and we conveyed that we do not have any objection from the investigation angle," an NIA official said.
