LG conducts own census, urges J&K residents to self-enumerate
Srinagar, May 17 -- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha completed his self-enumeration on Sunday and called upon all citizens of the Union Territory to fulfill their civic duty by self-enumerating their household details for the Census 2027.
The Lieutenant Governor described the exercise as "historically significant," being India's first fully digital and paperless census. It integrates advanced digital technologies, mobile-based data collection, and self-enumeration mechanisms to ensure efficiency, transparency, and real-time monitoring, an official spokesperson said.
