Jammu, April 16 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday unveiled a draft notification proposing a major restructuring of the Revenue (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rules, 2009, officials said.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the move follows the bifurcation of the erstwhile state into the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, necessitating a redistribution of sanctioned strength under the existing SRO-74 of 2009.

According to the draft Schedule-I placed in the public domain by the Revenue Department, the proposed sanctioned strength stands at over 10,000 posts. This includes 507 Naib Tehsildars, 1,207 Girdawar/Saddar Qanungo, 4,809 Patwaris, 28 Section Officers, 29 Geo Spatial Specialists, 7...
