Srinagar, Sept. 28 -- Celebrations are sweeping across Bhalessa, Doda, and the wider Jammu & Kashmir region after local boy Mithun Manhas assumed office as President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the first person from the Union Territory to occupy the country's top cricketing post.

Residents of his native hamlet of Doda and neighbouring villages are expressing pride and hope. "Mithun's journey shows that even from the remotest corners, you can reach the top," said, a local elder from Dosa. "This is a historic moment for all of us. Our youth now have someone they can look up to." Another local added, "From our small school in Bhalessa to the BCCI presidency, this is the kind of success that inspires generations."
