Srinagar, July 17 -- In a major achievement under the Swachh Survekshan 2024, Jammu has been declared the cleanest city in Jammu & Kashmir. The announcement was made today by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India, based on a detailed survey conducted in April and May 2025.
Jammu Municipal Corporation not only topped the UT rankings but also earned the prestigious 3-Star Garbage-Free City (GFC) certification. It was further honoured with the 'Promising Swachh Shehar' award for its consistent efforts in cleanliness, citizen participation, and waste management. The state award was received by Dr. Devansh Yadav (IAS), MD SBM and Commissioner JMC, at a function in New Delhi.
