Srinagar, April 22 -- In a significant boost to 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' ambitions in the energy storage sector, Eveready Industries India Ltd on Wednesday commissioned India's only operating alkaline battery manufacturing facility in Jammu's Samba district.

The state-of-the-art greenfield unit, set up with an investment of approximately ?200 crore, was inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, in the presence of Mr Mohit Burman, Promoter and Non-Executive Director of Eveready.
