It won't be an exaggeration if we say that both horticulture and agriculture sectors are the backbone of Jammu and Kashmir. The latest J&K Economic Survey states that agriculture and allied activities engage about 45.7% of the labour force, while horticulture supports around 7 lakh families in J&K UT, with employment to 35 lakh persons.
