Pulwama, April 30 -- The Department of Biotechnology at Government Degree College (GDC) Pulwama observed the International Day of Immunology with a day-long programme focused on the role of regulatory T cells in combating cancer, infections, and autoimmune diseases.

Held under the theme "Regulatory T Cells: Guardians of Immune Balance," the event began with a welcome address by the college principal, who underscored the significance of immunology in understanding disease mechanisms and advancing modern healthcare.

Dr Niyaz Ahmad Naikoo, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, presented an overview of the programme and highlighted the relevance of regulatory T cells in maintaining immune homeostasis.
