Srinagar, Sept. 15 -- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday inaugurated the high-capacity parcel train service, aimed at providing an efficient transport system for perishable goods from the region. The service is expected to significantly support the local economy and reduce dependency on road transport.
"We are very happy to announce that our high-capacity parcel train service has started from here," the LG said while speaking to reporters. "Every day about 23-24 tons of apples or other perishable goods will be transported from here. I believe this will be a big contribution to the economic development of this place."
