Srinagar, April 17 -- Apni Party senior vice president and former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir on Friday appreciated the tourism department for clearing valley guide licenses of 85 people in Gulmarg, describing it as a "good step."

In a statement, Mir said he was informed that the Assistant Director of Tourism in Gulmarg had cleared the pending licenses.

"The Assistant Director is doing a good job under the directions of the Director Tourism," Apni Party leader said, lauding the move.

He further expressed hope that the remaining license holders would also be cleared soon.

In case of any delay, Mir suggested that other guides be issued Gandola passes to ensure their livelihood is not affected. (KNS)
