A forest fire in the Balakote sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar triggered multiple landmine explosions on Sunday, officials said.

According to officials, the fire broke out suddenly in the forest area near the LoC.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAs the flames spread, 2-3 landmines planted along the border exploded due to the heat.

They added that despite the blasts, no loss of life or injuries have been reported so far. The concerned teams are monitoring the situation closely to prevent further damage.( KNS )
