Srinagar, Sept. 22 -- National Conference Chief and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that the restoration of statehood remains a top priority for the people of the region.

"Everyone in Jammu and Kashmir has hopes that our statehood will be restored," he said during a media interaction in Srinagar. He urged that the opportunity for statehood must be used effectively.
