FDA issues strict advisory on food safety display boards, meat disclosure in hotels, restaurants
Jammu, Aug. 18 -- Share Tweet Share Srinagar, Aug 18 (KNS): The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has directed all hotels, restaurants, cafes and other food business operators to mandatorily display food safety information boards and clearly disclose the specific type of meat used in their preparations, officials said. The directive, issued under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and the Rules and Regulations framed thereunder, places a statutory responsibility upon every Food Business Operator (FBO) to ensure that food offered for sale is "safe, properly represented and not misleading to consumers," according to an official advisory issued here.
