In a major action against the growing drug menace, police in coordination with civil administration officials demolished two shops along with two marlas of land belonging to an alleged notorious drug peddler in the Hajin area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Monday.

The action was taken against Lal Din Sheikh, son of the late Gh. Mohi-ud-Din Sheikh, a resident of Hakbara Hajin, is reportedly involved in narcotics-related activities.

Officials said the demolition drive is part of an intensified campaign to curb drug trafficking and dismantle the support structures enabling the illegal trade. The move sends a strong message to those involved in such unlawful activities.
