New Delhi, April 23 -- The centre on Thursday advised Indian nationals not to travel to Iran, asserting that resumption of some flights does not signal normalcy amid continued airspace restrictions and regional tensions.

Issuing a fresh advisory, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the warning supersedes any impression that travel to the Islamic Republic has become safe.

"Indian citizens are strongly advised not to travel to Iran, whether by air or land," an MEA official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).

The government said airspace restrictions and operational uncertainties due to regional tensions continue to affect international flight operations to and from Iran.
