Srinagar, May 18 -- The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of All J&K Shia Association (AJKSA), along with religious scholars, carried out moon sighting observations for the sacred month of Zul Hijjah 1447 AH at the Meteorological Department office, Rambagh Srinagar.

After careful observation and Shari'ah verification, it was confirmed that the crescent moon of Zul Hijjah was not sighted either by the AJKSA Ruet-e-Hilal Committee or by other moon sighting committees across India. No reliable or authenticated Sharai witness regarding the sighting of the moon was received from any part of the country.
