Jammu, July 22 -- Share Tweet Share Srinagar, July 22(KNS): A police constable was shot dead by an unknown terrorist in the busy Lal Chowk area of Anantnag town, triggering a massive security operation in the area, officials said. The slain policeman has been identified as Constable Ashiq Hussain. He sustained critical injuries in the attack and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Soon after the incident, security forces sealed the area and launched a large-scale search operation to track down the attackers. Additional reinforcements were rushed to strengthen the cordon.
