Jammu, Aug. 16 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today visited the cloudburst-affected areas of Kishtwar to take stock of the situation and meet the affected families.

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and widespread damage caused by the natural calamity, the Chief Minister assured the people that the Government stands firmly with them in this hour of grief.

As an immediate measure of relief and solidarity, the Chief Minister announced ex-gratia assistance from the CM's Relief Fund:
