Cloudbursts Trigger Flash Floods in Kulgam, Uri
Jammu, Aug. 5 -- Share Tweet Share Srinagar, Aug 5 (KNS): Cloudbursts triggered flash floods in parts of south and north Kashmir on Wednesday evening, causing a sharp rise in water levels in several streams and nallahs, although no loss of life was reported, officials said. Intense thundershowers lashed the Shopian-Kulgam belt for nearly 90 minutes during the afternoon, resulting in a rapid increase in the water level of small streams and nallahs and raising the possibility of localized flash floods in vulnerable areas. Reports of a cloudburst later emerged from Nandimarg in Kulgam district, where a massive surge was witnessed in the Namlan Nallah.
