An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the cloudburst, which occurred late Wednesday, caused a sudden surge in a local stream, inundating several residential houses and triggering panic among the local population, he said. Responding swiftly to the emergency, a team comprising Tehsildar Boniyar, SDPO Uri, and SHO Police Station Bijhama rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
