A joint rescue operation by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and Bandipora Police evacuated around 50 stranded vehicles from the snow-hit Bandipora-Gurez road, which remained closed on Saturday following fresh snowfall, officials said.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) the 85-km arterial road, linking Gurez valley to Bandipora district, witnessed accumulation at several stretches, including Razdan Top, leading to multiple vehicles getting trapped.
Officials said the rescue teams carried out snow clearance and made the Razdan Top stretch temporarily motorable to evacuate vehicles carrying tourists, passengers, and essential supplies.
