Matahanji, has been conferred with the prestigious Indian Literature Award 2026 by the Indian Literature & Arts Society for his outstanding contribution to contemporary literature.

Matahanji received the honour for his acclaimed literary work "The Pearls of Pain," a book widely appreciated for its emotional depth, philosophical insight, and powerful portrayal of human suffering, resilience, and healing. The jury praised the work for its ability to connect deeply with readers through themes reflecting lived realities and emotional transformation.
