Srinagar, May 11 -- The Army on Monday organised an interaction programme and traditional Barakhana for members of the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities in Bandipora and Ganderbal districts to strengthen civil-military coordination and facilitate smooth seasonal migration to upper reaches, officials said.

The programme was organised under the aegis of the Army's Kilo Force and 3 Sector Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and was attended by members of the nomadic communities preparing for their annual migration to higher mountain pastures.

During the interaction, Company Commanders briefed the participants on security-related procedures and documentation required for movement through transit points and sensitive areas, the officials said.
