AIP seeks urgent intervention over Achan landfill crisis
Jammu, Aug. 28 -- Share Tweet Share Srinagar, August 28 (KNS) : While speaking to inhabitants living around Achan-Eidgah, Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi expressed serious concern over the continuing waste-management crisis at the Achan landfill, saying the people living in its vicinity are bearing the consequences of prolonged accumulation of waste. In a statement issued, Inam Un Nabi said the latest developments before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) are deeply concerning, with around 11 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste still reported at Achan, while only approximately 40,000 tonnes has so far been processed through bio-mining.
