Srinagar, Nov. 9 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday hit back at Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma's challenge to "swear on the Quran" over alleged links with the BJP, declaring that he never sought any understanding or alliance with the saffron party not even for the restoration of statehood.

"I swear on the Holy Quran that I didn't seek an alliance with the BJP in 2024 for statehood or for any other reason," Omar said in a rebuttal. "Unlike Sunil Sharma, I don't tell lies for a living."

The Chief Minister was responding to Sharma's statement earlier in the day, in which the BJP leader dared Omar to visit a mosque and take an oath on the Holy Quran, claiming the National Conference had "secret ties" with the BJP in Delhi.Click ...
