BARAMULLA, Feb. 4 -- Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, in the presence of ALC Baramulla, Rahil Amin, today distributed a compensation cheque worthRs.12.78 Lacs to the dependents of accident victims under the provisions of the Employees Compensation Act, 1923 at his office chambers.

The compensation pertains to the unfortunate death of Mohammad Ashraf Malik, who lost his life in a work-related accident on 13 October 2025 at the work site at Kanispora, Baramulla. The amount was disbursed to the dependants of the deceased in accordance with the statutory provisions of the Employees Compensation Act.
