Srinagar, May 4 -- A man sustained grievous injuries after falling from the rooftop of a truck that overturned along the New Bypass in the Lasjan area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Sunday, officials said.

According to officials, the injured has been identified as Muhammad Iqbal Bokda (50), son of Gulam Muhammad Bokda, a resident of Mazmoo Qazigund.

Officials said the accident occurred when the truck overturned on the bypass, causing the man, who was sitting on top of the vehicle, to fall onto the road and suffer serious injuries.

Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and shifted the injured to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment.
