Srinagar, July 18 -- Srinagar Police on Friday said it has traced and recovered three minor girls who had gone missing from the city, locating them in Amritsar, Punjab, within 72 hours of their disappearance.
Police said the recovery was made in connection with FIR No. 63/2026 registered under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh.
According to the police, an investigation was launched immediately after the complaint was received, during which investigators developed leads about the whereabouts of the girls. A police team was subsequently deputed to Punjab, where, with the assistance of the Punjab Police, the three minors were traced and recovered safely from Amritsar within 72 hours.
