Kulgam, May 13 -- Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam on Tuesday visited the accident-prone Manigam Crossing on National Highway 44 to assess the prevailing situation and review measures required to improve road safety along the stretch.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the existing infrastructure and safety arrangements at the crossing.
Interacting with local residents, the DC listened to concerns regarding frequent road accidents occurring at the location. Residents demanded construction of a separate service road from Manigam Crossing to Nipora Crossing to streamline traffic movement and improve commuter safety.
