Srinagar, Aug. 10 -- Police arrested seven alleged drug peddlers in separate operations across Shopian, Pulwama, Kathua, Jammu and Doda districts and booked a habitual offender under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Kathua, officials said on Sunday.

In south Kashmir, police arrested two alleged drug peddlers following the recovery of contraband in separate cases.

At Manihal Crossing in Shopian, police intercepted a suspicious person and recovered 44 grams of charas from his possession. The accused was identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Anantnag district. A case has been registered under relevant sections of law.
