SRINAGAR, Aug. 5 -- Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, on Tuesday launched the Cambridge Phonics & Handwriting Programme in Srinagar, describing foundational literacy as a key element in improving the quality of early childhood education.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister said strong educational foundations during a child's formative years are essential for developing confidence, creativity and lifelong learning.
She said the introduction of internationally recognised learning programmes would help strengthen language proficiency, reading abilities and handwriting skills among young learners, while complementing the government's efforts to modernise the education system.
