SRINAGAR, Sept. 18 -- Peoples Conference chairman and Handwara MLA Sajad Gani Lone has sought clarification from the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat over the status of a resolution he submitted concerning the alleged rigging of the 1987 Assembly elections.

In a statement issued ahead of the Autumn Session of the Assembly, Lone said he had submitted two resolutions for consideration. While the Secretariat informed him that his resolution on the recent power tariff hike had been admitted, he said no communication had been received regarding the resolution related to the 1987 elections.
