Srinagar, March 4 -- The roads of Jammu and Kashmir have long carried both promise and peril. For years, the rising tide of vehicles and the growing aspirations of young drivers seemed destined to overwhelm fragile safety systems. Yet, recent figures tell a different story; one of cautious optimism. Road accidents have declined by 13.6 per cent over the past three years, a rare and welcome reversal in a region where every crash leaves behind broken families and shaken communities.
