Srinagar, July 17 -- Secretary, Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Thursday directed field officers to complete all pending houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) by July 30 and ensure strict adherence to guidelines while updating the beneficiary database.

Chairing a review meeting, Asad said Jammu and Kashmir has achieved 98 per cent completion under PMAY-G but stressed that the objective was to ensure that every eligible rural household receives a permanent house.

According to the progress report reviewed during the meeting, 3,34,611 houses have been sanctioned against a target of 3,35,452, while 3,26,558 have been completed, leaving 8,053 houses pending.
