Jammu, Aug. 21 -- A delegation from Punjab led by Ajnala MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Thursday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and raised concerns over recurring monsoon overflows from the Ujh River affecting several districts of Punjab.
The delegation urged the Lieutenant Governor to take up with the Prime Minister and the Union Jal Shakti Ministry the construction of a dam or reservoir project on the Ujh River, or any other technically feasible flood-mitigation measure, following a comprehensive feasibility study and preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR).
