India, Oct. 2 -- Srinagar: As part of ongoing efforts to prevent misuse of mobile communication channels, police conducted a district-wide inspection of SIM card vendors in Anantnag areas.

Surprise checks were carried out at multiple locations to ensure strict adherence to KYC norms, thorough verification of identity and address documents, and safeguards against unauthorized issuance of SIM cards that could otherwise be exploited for unlawful or anti-national activities, police spokesperson said in a statement here.
