Srinagar, Feb. 27 -- Police have arrested two drug peddlers in north Kashmir and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police spokesperson informed the one Mohammad Ahsan Ganaie, son of Abdul Ahad Ganaie of Shahgund, Hajin, was arrested at a checkpoint established at Gundbal near Government Primary School, after 115 grams of cannabis-like substance, one mobile phone, and cash amounting to Rs.40,000 were recovered from his possession.

In Sopore, at Naseerabad, Chinkipora Sopore, police intercepted a truck (JK02BQ-6164). During the search, "substantial quantity" of poppy straw was recovered and seized. The accused driver, identified as Shamdin, son of Sarajdin, resident of Dhirti, Katra, was arrested and vehicle seized....
