Srinagar, July 10 -- More than 6,600 students will appear for the National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) examination across Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, with the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) putting in place arrangements at 97 examination centres.

According to a JKBOSE statement, candidates will compete for 1,068 scholarship slots allotted to the Union Territory under the centrally sponsored scheme.

Students who qualify will receive a scholarship of Rs.12,000 per year for four years, beginning from Class IX.
