Kulgam, July 6 -- A motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider injured after their motorcycle collided with a bus in the Chawalgam area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday, officials said.

An official told KNO that the motorcycle (JK18C-9358) collided with a bus (JK03P-6442) at Chawalgam.

Both the rider and the pillion rider sustained injuries and were shifted to a hospital, where the rider was declared brought dead. The injured pillion rider is undergoing treatment at District Hospital Kulgam.

The deceased was identified as Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ama Sheikh, while the injured was identified as Javid Ahmad Laway, son of Aziz Ahmad Laway. Both were residents of Chawalgam.
