SHOPIAN, June 19 -- MLA Shopian Shabir Ahmad Kullay and Deputy Commissioner Shopian Shishir Gupta on Thursday conducted an extensive tour of hailstorm-affected areas in the district to assess damage to orchards and interact with affected farmers and growers.
The duo visited several villages, including Vedpora, Daramdora, Magalpora, Odhu, Chaigund, Dumpora, Dairoo and Nadigund, where reports of hailstorm-induced damage to horticultural produce had emerged in recent days.
During the visit, they held detailed interactions with farmers and orchardists, who highlighted the losses suffered due to the adverse weather conditions and sought government support.
