Srinagar, April 10 -- Jammu and Kashmir's dairy sector today stands at a crossroads, embodying both the promise of growth and the challenge of credibility. Over the past four years, milk production has risen steadily, climbing from 25.94 lakh tonnes in 2020-21 to 29.74 lakh tonnes in 2024-25. This nearly 15 per cent increase is no small feat for a region where geography and dispersed rural communities often limit the scale of organised infrastructure.
