Srinagar, July 20 -- Medical education in Jammu and Kashmir is undergoing a decisive transformation. Barely a decade ago, the region offered just 500 MBBS seats. Today, that number has surged to 1,675; a structural shift that signals how the state is investing in healthcare training and human capital.

The expansion has been driven by new medical colleges and successive approvals for higher intake.
