Srinagar, Sept. 10 -- The Legal Metrology Department (LMD) has intensified enforcement and compliance activities across Jammu and Kashmir, realising approximately Rs.44.55 lakh in revenue and Rs.9.10 lakh through composition during August 2026, according to official figures.
The department has also introduced the Improvement Notice mechanism under Jan Vishwas 2.0, allowing establishments with minor or rectifiable deficiencies an opportunity to address violations within a prescribed period before penal action is initiated, where warranted.
