Jammu, April 4 -- Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana on Friday said compensation for acquired proprietary land is being fixed strictly in accordance with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 and the National Highways Authority Act, 1956.

Replying to a question raised by Shabir Ahmad Kullay in the Legislative Assembly on behalf of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Minister said compensation is being assessed strictly under the existing legal framework.
