Leh, May 31 -- Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena has directed all administrative departments in the Union Territory to promote austerity, adopt sustainable practices and ensure judicious use of natural resources in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for resource conservation, sustainable development and self-reliance.

The directions aim to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, promote renewable energy, encourage the use of sustainable products, support healthy lifestyles, strengthen local livelihoods and ensure efficient utilisation of public resources.
