Srinagar, Sept. 6 -- The higher reaches of Kashmir received the first snowfall of the season on Saturday, while the plains were lashed by brief rains accompanied by hailstorms in some places, officials said.

@Kashmir_weather reported that Mahadev Peak was covered in snow.

The second spell has occurred as well, with snow over the extreme higher reaches, @kashmir_weather posted on X.

Giving details, it said, light snow was recorded over extreme higher reaches, including Zojila Pass Mountains & Gumri Mountains. Similarly, reports of light snowfall also surfaced from the mountains of Gulmarg and the nearby Pir Panjal range.
