Kupwara, July 20 -- The Sub-Divisional Administration Karnah has stepped up preparedness measures and issued an advisory to nomadic families in view of the forecast of heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions over the coming week.
According to officials, the administration has mapped all nomadic and migratory families in the sub-division and advised them to avoid camping near nallahs, water channels, landslide-prone areas and other vulnerable locations. The families have also been asked to remain vigilant and immediately report any emergency to the administration.
Meanwhile, a seasonal hut belonging to a nomadic family of Altaf Ahmad, son of Kaloo Chachi of Nachiyan village, was damaged due to heavy overnight rainfall.
